PlaylistTV is a media player for people who already run a Plex Media Server and would rather watch than browse. Every playlist and every collection on the server becomes a channel; selecting a channel starts continuous playback, in order or shuffled, with the app remembering where you were. ## Core Differentiator: Privacy by Architecture

There is no server operated by the developer. PlaylistTV talks only to your own Plex Media Server and, optionally, to your own iCloud account. There is no account with the developer, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party analytics or advertising SDK. The app reads from your Plex server; the single write it can perform is marking a finished episode as watched on your server, and that is off by default.

## Getting Started

1. Sign in to Plex — on first launch the app shows a short code; enter it at plex.tv/link and choose a server
2. Pick a channel — the Channels tab lists every playlist and collection; selecting one starts it (a "Tuning in" screen shows while the server assembles the line-up)
3. Make it yours — per-channel settings for order, resume behaviour, and whether finished episodes are reported back to Plex; defaults can also be set once under Settings
4. Carry on somewhere else — switch on iCloud sync and progress, favourites and channel settings follow you between devices

- Platforms: iPhone (iOS 17+), iPad (iPadOS 17+), Apple TV (tvOS 17+), Mac (macOS 14+)
- Connects to: your Plex Media Server (directly, with your credentials), plex.tv (sign-in and server discovery), and Apple iCloud (only if sync is enabled, only your own account)
- Not affiliated with Plex Inc.; plex.tv usage is governed by Plex's own privacy policy
- Purchases are handled entirely by Apple; the developer receives only Apple's sales reports, which contain no personal information

## Privacy Policy Summary

PlaylistTV collects nothing about you. Channel line-ups, playback progress and settings are stored on your device, and — if you enable iCloud sync — through your own iCloud account under Apple's terms.
